Description
1 and 2 Lindum Road is a pair of houses, now functioning as a nursing home, built around 1840. The buildings are constructed from gault brick, featuring stucco dressings and hipped slate roofs with two side wall stacks. They have quoins and wooden modillion eaves.
The houses are three storeys tall and consist of three bays. Most of the windows are glazing bar sashes. The east front, facing Lindum Road, includes a central doorcase with a cornice supported by consoles, a six-panel door, and an overlight. Above this entrance is a full-height sash window with a similar surround, along with a balcony that has a pierced balustrade. On either side of the door, there are canted bay windows topped with tent-roofed iron balconies, each featuring triple sashes. Above these, there are three sashes with eared architraves.
The south side, facing Clasketgate, has a doorcase and single-storey bay windows that are similar to those on the east front. Above these, there are three sashes with cornices on consoles, and above that, three more sashes with eared architraves.
Inside, the property features a cantilevered dogleg staircase with turned balusters.
