Description

The boundary wall and gatepiers at Usher Art Gallery were built between 1926 and 1927, likely designed by Sir Reginald Blomfield. Constructed from brick with stone dressings, the wall follows a curved line along Lindum Road. It features a low wall topped with stepped stone coping, which originally had a railing. There are two gatepiers adorned with cornices and ball finials, along with two terminal piers and two smaller piers for a side gate located to the north-east. This structure is included for its group value.
