Description

This building is a warehouse constructed in 1890. It is made of red brick with limestone ashlar dressings and features a pantile roof topped with an ornate, stepped, ashlar coped gable that includes kneelers and three pyramidal ashlar finials. The warehouse has four storeys and a three-bay south front. The central bay contains a large rectangular opening with a moulded brick surround and large partially glazed double doors that have glazing bars. Above this opening is a moulded ashlar string course.

On the first floor, there is a central doorway featuring a basket arch with a brick moulded surround, an ornate ashlar keystone, an overlight with glazing bars, and a plank door. Flanking this doorway are single windows with moulded brick surrounds, ornate raised keystones, and two-light casements topped with fixed glazing bar overlights. There is another moulded ashlar string course above this level.

Two brick pilasters with ashlar bands rise from above the keystones of the first-floor windows, extending through the second and third floors to the base of the flanking pyramidal finials. The second floor has two small windows with segmental heads, moulded brick keystones, and fixed glazing bars with small casements. These windows flank a projecting wood and cast iron pulley.

On the third floor, there is a central window with an ashlar ogee-shaped plaque below, a segmental head, a fragmentary glazing bar casement, and a pilaster with ashlar bands that rises from the moulded brick keystone to the central pyramidal finial above. This window is flanked by four ties that form the date "1890".
