Description
No 21 on Upgate is an early 19th-century building. The left-hand section has three storeys and is constructed of painted brick with a pantile roof. The ground floor features a flat carriage arch and there is one window on each storey, all of which are hung sash windows with glazing bars. The first-floor window has a segmental arch with a keystone and a wooden case. The right-hand section of the building projects forward and has two storeys, topped with a large modern dormer that contains casement windows, also made of painted brick and with a pantile roof. This section features a dentil cornice and three windows with segmental arches, keystones, wooden cases, and marginal glazing. The ground floor has a modern shop front. The buildings from No 13 to No 25 (odd) form a group.
