Description

Nos 23 and 25 Upgate are early 19th-century buildings that stand three storeys tall, constructed from painted brick. They feature bracketed eaves and have two windows each, with rusticated stucco arches and marginal glazing. The late 19th-century shop front includes a half-glazed door and a six-panel yard door to the left, along with a glass panel in the fascia displaying the name of the shop. No 25 also has a Welsh slate roof and a bracketed eaves cornice, with stucco arches and marginal glazing on the top floor. It has a modern shop front. Together, Nos 13 to 25 (odd) form a group, and Nos 23 and 25 also group with Nos 1 and 1A Mercer Row.
