Description

Nos. 6 and 7 on High Street are two semi-detached houses with a shop attached to the right, dating from around 1825, with mid-19th century alterations. They are constructed of red brick and feature a pantile roof with moulded wooden eaves, two gable stacks, and a single central ridge stack. The buildings are two and a half storeys high and have a four-bay front that is irregular, with a band at the second floor and a single-storey bay on the right.

The doorway on the left has a pilastered doorcase, an entablature, a moulded cornice, an overlight, and a partially glazed door. To the right, there is a glazing bar sash window with a doorway beyond that also has a pilastered doorcase, an entablature, an overlight, and a partially glazed door. There is another single glazing bar sash window beyond that.

The mid-19th century shop front is in a single-storey addition and features a central deep-set doorway with a three-quarter glazed door, flanked by fixed rectangular shop windows with semi-circular headed lights. Above this, there is a continuous moulded entablature. To the left, there are four glazing bar sashes, with four smaller glazing bar sashes above them. All the windows have painted flush wedge lintels.
