Description

No. 5 West Street is a shop building that dates from the early 18th century, with some elements from the early 19th century and 20th century. It is constructed of red brick, with some areas rendered and colourwashed. The roof is made of pantiles and features a stone-coped gable on the left side, along with gable stacks. The building is two storeys high and has a three-bay front, which includes a brick band at the first floor level.

The central entrance consists of a plain doorcase with a panelled door. To the left, there is a small canted bay window from the 19th century, fitted with plain sash windows. Additionally, there is a simple shop front to the left, which includes a narrow upper band with glazing bars. Above the shop front, there are two two-light sliding sash windows.
