Description

Nos. 1 and 3 on West Street are a cottage and attached shop dating from the early 18th century to the early 19th century. They are constructed of red brick with some areas of render and colourwash. The building features a pantile roof with a large projecting gable stack and a single gable stack to the right. It is two stories high and has a four-bay front with a brick band at the first floor level.

To the left, there is a doorway with a reeded doorcase, an overlight, and a deep-set panelled door. To the left of this doorway is a glazing-bar sash window. On the right side, there is another doorway with a segmental head and a partially glazed door, followed by a small, plain shop window. Above, there are two sliding sash windows, each with two lights.
