Description

This is a mid-19th century to early 20th century warehouse located at the rear of No. 25 on Bridge Street in Horncastle. It is constructed of red brick and features a pantile roof with moulded brick eaves and a single gable stack on the west side. The building is two storeys high with a garret and has a six-bay front.

On the left side, there is a blocked doorway with a two-light casement window inserted. Next to it, there is another two-light casement window and a small plain sash window, both with segmental heads. To the right, there is a brick lean-to added in the 20th century, which has a plank door and a wooden lintel at its east end, although the roof is no longer intact. Above this lean-to, there is a doorway with a wooden lintel and a plank door.

On the left side, there is a fixed glazing bar window with a shuttered opening beyond, which has a segmental head and a glazing bar casement inserted. There are also two two-light casements, with the right one having a wooden lintel and the left one featuring a segmental head. Beyond these, there is a small glazing bar sash window with a segmental head.

Additionally, there is a stone plaque on the east return wall inscribed with the word "Boyers" and an illegible date. This warehouse is notable as one of the few early warehouses along the river that remains mostly intact.
