Description
Nos. 13 and 15 on West Street is a house with a shop that dates from the 17th century to the late 19th century. The building is likely timber framed and features red brick with thick pebble-dash render. It has a steeply pitched plain tiled roof with a brick coped gable on the left and overhanging eaves with bargeboards on the right, along with tall gable stacks. The front is two storeys high and consists of four bays, with a brick band at the first floor level.
To the left, there is a doorway with a segmental head and a partially glazed door. Beyond this is a late 18th-century bowed shop window that has glazing bars and an entablature. On the right, there is a small late 19th-century shop front featuring a central partially glazed doorway flanked by fixed square windows, which have an upper fragmentary wooden cornice. Above, there are single plain sashes with margin lights, flanking a single blind opening; all three have segmental heads and are placed unsymmetrically.
