Description

No. 4 West Street is a shop with accommodation above, dating from around 1830. The building is constructed of stock brick, with some red brick, and features a pantile roof with tile-coped gables, wooden eaves, and a gable stack. It stands three storeys high with a two-bay front. The ground floor has a shop front that includes a central pilastered doorway with a fanlight and overlight below, along with a partially glazed door. On either side of the doorway are shop windows, each framed by pilasters, with margin lights and upper narrow horizontal lights that have ornate fan tracery. Above, there are two glazing bar sashes, with two smaller glazing bar sashes above them, all featuring wedge lintels.
