Description

The Country Sports Shop is an early 19th-century building that originally housed two shops with accommodation above, now functioning as a single shop. It features a red brick facade with some yellow brick and areas of colourwash. The roof is covered with pantiles and has moulded wooden bracketed eaves and a central ridge stack.

The building is three stories high and has a four-bay front. On the left side, there is a shop front with a doorway that has ornate panelled pilasters, a traceried overlight, and a panelled door. To the right of this, there is a canted shop window with three lights, featuring semi-circular headed tracery, flanking pilasters, and fielded panelling below.

On the right side, another shop front has a doorway with similar ornate panelled pilasters, a traceried overlight, and a partially glazed door. Adjacent to this is another canted shop window with three lights, also featuring semi-circular headed tracery, flanking pilasters, and fielded panelling below. A panelled entablature with a dentillated band runs the full length over both shop fronts. Above, there are two glazing bar sashes, with two smaller glazing bar sashes above them, all having stucco wedge lintels and segmental heads.
