Description
This is a milepost from the mid-19th century, made of cast iron and painted white with raised black lettering. It has a triangular shape and features a stop below the upper panel. The milepost is inscribed with the distances to Castle Donington Parish, Nottingham (14 miles) and Tamworth (21 miles). Additionally, there is a small oval plaque on the stop that reads "WOOTTON BROS, IRON WORKS, COALVILLE."
