Description
Coppice Lodge is a former lodge to Donington Park, now used as offices, dating from around 1800. The building is constructed of ashlar and features a roof that is concealed behind a battlemented parapet. It is a small castellated structure with a circular stair tower located at the north-west corner. The main block has two storeys, with moulded strings and openings that feature 4-centred arches. The north and south sides have large recesses with moulded 4-centred arches, dripmoulds, and 2-light traceried windows on each floor. The east front, facing the drive, is mostly blind except for a small door set in a moulded arch with a hoodmould. The former archway over the drive has been removed. The tower rises to a third storey and includes a castellated parapet supported by corbels, moulded strings, and slit windows with Tudor hoodmoulds. The far side of the lodge has a 20th-century lean-to and a hipped single-storey brick extension, which are not of special architectural interest.
