Description
This is a milepost from the mid-19th century located on Belton Rempstone Road. It is made of cast iron and painted white, featuring raised black lettering. The milepost has a triangular shape and is stopped below the top plate. It is inscribed with the distances to Belton Parish, Rempstone (9 miles), and Ashby-de-la-Zouch (7 miles). Additionally, there is a small oval plaque on the stop that reads: "WOOTTON BROS., IRON WORKS, COALVILLE."
