Description
The Cottage is a farmhouse that has been converted into a house, dating from 1760. It is constructed of brick that has been whitewashed, featuring a steeply pitched slate roof with a Swithland slate verge and a stepped brick plinth. The building has two storeys plus garrets and is arranged in three bays.
On the east side, there is an off-centre two-light glazing bar casement, flanked by two single three-light casements. Above these, there are two additional two-light casements. All of the windows have rubbed brick segmental heads. To the right, there is a datestone inscribed 'CRE 1760'.
The north gable features a casement window, and to the right, there is a small 19th-century lean-to addition with a door. Above this addition, there is a 20th-century casement window, and above that, a 18th-century iron-framed casement with a segmental head and leaded glazing. The south gable is blank.
