Description

The Old Farm is a farmhouse, dating from 1761 as indicated by a datestone. It is constructed of brick with stone dressings and a slate roof. Originally a 4-bay building, it was later extended to the right by incorporating a former farm building, adding a further 4 bays. A stone buttress is visible at the left-hand end. The ground floor is partially obscured by foliage. The ground floor has one sashed window with glazing bars, alongside a small-paned casement. The first floor features three horizontally sliding sashed windows. The entrance is sheltered by a stone canopy, leading to a 6-panel door. Chimneys are positioned cross-axial and at the gable ends. The left return elevation has segmental-headed windows, with sashed windows on the ground floor and horizontally sliding sashes on the first floor, all incorporating glazing bars.
