Description

This is a farm building, likely originally a farmhouse with attached outbuildings, dating to 1665, with later alterations. It is constructed of red brick with a red sandstone plinth, dressings, and irregular quoins, and has a stone slate roof with stone copings and ball finials. The building is two storeys high and five bays wide, set on a high plinth with an ogee moulding. The north-west side features several large, edge-moulded openings beneath relieving arches, a blocked door opening with a lintel inscribed "1665 D.S.A.", a two-light mullioned window, and a square taking-in door with a shutter. A raised brick band runs across the gable end. The north-east gable has a three-light mullioned window at the first floor level and a similar two-light window above. The south-east side has square taking-in doors and ventilation slits shaped like crosses. Internally, the building features strutted trusses, a ridge tree, and double side purlins with wind braces.
