Description
Grange Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the early 18th century and early 19th century. It is constructed of squared coursed lias and brick, topped with a Swithland slate roof. The building was originally likely designed with a three-unit plan and stands three storeys high. It features a five-window range of two-light casements that decrease in size on the second floor, all with arch-head lights beneath flat brick arches and wooden lintels. The central door, which is part-glazed and from the 19th century, is sheltered by a 20th-century glazed porch. The brickwork has been raised from the midpoint of the first-floor windows in the early 19th century. There are brick stacks located at the ridge and at the ends of the building, along with early 19th-century brick extensions to the rear. The interior has not been inspected, but it is noted to have a staircase with a stick balustrade surrounding an open-well and ceiling beams that are now encased.
