Description
The Thatched House is a house located on Hermitage Road in Brampton Ash. It dates from the mid-18th century and mid-19th century. The building is constructed of squared coursed lias and features thatch and slate roofs. It originally has a T-shaped plan and stands two storeys tall. The main front has a three-window range of 19th-century two-light casements on the first floor, which are set under gauged stone arches. At the ground floor, there are 19th-century stone bay windows and a central part-glazed door beneath a wooden lintel. The house has ashlar gable parapets and kneelers, with brick stacks at each end. To the left of the main front, there is a projecting wing that includes a sash window with glazing bars and a slate roof. The rear wing has various 19th-century extensions and alterations. The interior has not been inspected.
