Description

No. 8 Bottom Lane is a house, likely built in the mid 17th century and 18th century. It features regular coursed limestone and ironstone with a thatched roof. The building has a 2-unit lobby-entry plan and stands two storeys high. The front has a two-window range of 19th and 20th century casements with glazing bars, which are set beneath wooden lintels. There is a central 20th century door that is topped by a 19th century head. A shallow two-stage buttress on the left corner is probably from the 17th century. The house has brick gable parapets and a central brick stack. To the right, there is a 20th century single-storey extension. Although the interior has not been inspected, it is noted to have an open fireplace.
