Description
Rydal Mount is a farmhouse, now a house, dating from the mid 18th century. It is constructed of ironstone ashlar and features a Collyweston slate roof. The building has an L-shaped plan and is two storeys high with an attic. The main front has a three-window range of 19th and 20th century sash windows set in original openings beneath stone lintels. There is a 20th century glazed door located to the far left. The gable ends have ashlar parapets and ashlar stacks. The right elevation has two blocked windows, one of which shows the remains of a false cross window. A Lincolnshire dormer with a casement window is also present. At the rear, there is a 20th century porch. Inside, there are remnants of an open fireplace with a bressumer in the rear room, and the staircase features a stick balustrade leading to the first floor landing. Additionally, there are two panelled doors.
