Description
Crawford House is an earlier to mid-19th century building located on the east side of Burton Street, adjacent to Maison Dieu on the south side. It is constructed of red brick and features a slate roof. The building stands three storeys tall and has three windows with stuccoed lintels. The ground floor includes two angular bays, which currently have missing glazing bars, flanking a central door that is topped by a wide cornice. The doorcase is made of stucco and features a hood supported by heavily moulded brackets, along with a glazed rectangular fanlight. The windows are sashes with glazing bars, although one window on the top floor has altered glazing and there is a blank space in the centre of the top floor. The ground floor accommodates two shops. Crawford House is part of a group of listed buildings on Burton Street, which includes Nos 24 to 36 (even), all of which are of local interest.
