11 And 13, Burton Street

Nos 11 and 13 on Burton Street are late 18th century to early 19th century buildings made of red brick. They feature a narrow plain frieze, cornice, and blocking course, topped with a slate roof. The facade has three widely spaced windows; the two outer first-floor windows are curved three-light bays with hung sashes and leaded roofs, each adorned with a moulded cornice. All windows are sashes with glazing bars, except for the center first-floor window, which has modern glazing. There are also two altered 19th-century shop fronts. This building is particularly notable locally as it was known as the Old Club, popular among hunting circles during Melton's peak fame. The listed buildings on Burton Street, including Nos 24 to 36 (even), are of local interest.
