Description

The Hall is a house, originally a farmhouse, built in the late 18th century and extended in the 19th century. It is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond with a hipped slate roof and features a brick lateral stack on the left. The building has a T-plan layout and is three storeys high with a three-window principal range and a two-storey wing.

The main block has a slightly recessed entrance bay on the right, which includes a six-panel, part-glazed door with a fanlight and a round-arched gauged brick head. To the left, there is a two-storey canted bay window with 12-pane sash windows and limestone dressings. A 12-pane sash window on the first floor to the right has a gauged brick flat-arched head, while the second floor features 6-pane sashes with similar heads. The exterior also includes a limestone plinth, a ground floor sill band, storey bands, and a moulded wood eaves cornice.

The two-storey wing on the right was altered in the late 19th or early 20th century and has paned sashes on the ground and first floors. There is an attached single-storey former outbuilding range to the far right, made of coursed limestone and ironstone rubble, featuring casement windows and a Swithland slate roof.

Inside, the property is noted for a large wood chimneypiece with garlanded columns, chequered marble paving in the hall with black diamond insets, and an open-well stair leading from the ground floor to the attic, which has stick balusters.
