Description

Manor Farmhouse is a house dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century, with possible earlier origins and later 19th century additions and alterations. It is constructed of brick in Flemish bond and has a pantile roof. The building is L-shaped on plan, featuring a central entrance hall on the south front, with a wing to the rear left that contains a secondary entrance hall and a former back kitchen, along with a later outshut in the angle.

The farmhouse is two storeys tall with an attic and consists of three bays, arranged symmetrically. There are steps leading to a recessed six-panel door, which has two glazed top panels above two fielded and two plain lower panels, along with a plain overlight set within a plain heavy timber frame beneath a stucco flat arch. The later 19th century has introduced 12-pane sash windows on the ground floor beneath the original stucco flat arches. The original 16-pane sashes on the first floor are set in flush wooden architraves beneath similar arches, with a narrower window above the entrance.

The eaves cornice features stepped and dentilled brickwork, and the gables are stone-coped with shaped kneelers. There are end stacks on the building. On the left return, there is a six-panel door and surround similar to the front, flanked by a 12-pane sash on the right and a late 19th century tripartite sash on the left, which includes glazing bars. Two 12-pane first-floor sashes are located to the left in flush wooden architraves, with a painted dummy window and an attic four-pane sliding sash to the right. The eaves cornice, gable, and end stack mirror those on the front.

Inside, the farmhouse features an open-well staircase with a moulded handrail and plain balusters.
