Description
This building, located at 58-62 Woodmarket, is a house dating from the early to mid-17th century, with later alterations. It has a timber frame that is clad and partly rebuilt in red brick, topped with deep tiled roofs. The structure features a storeyed hall range with a parlour wing on the right, creating an L-shaped plan. There is an end stack to the main range on the left with two offset shafts, and a ridge stack on the wing with a single offset shaft. The building has two storeys and an irregular three-window front. It includes a cogged eaves cornice, 19th-century three-light casement windows on the first floor, with the lintels breaking the cornice. On the ground floor, there is a doorway and a three-light casement window to the left, both under segmental heads, along with later shallow projecting windows on the right and left. The left return reveals original framing exposed on the gable wall, featuring a tie with queen posts and a collar. The interior has not been inspected but may contain features of interest.
