Description
Old Red Lion Farmhouse is a house dating from the mid to late 17th century. It features red brick construction, with some parts timber framed, and has a tiled roof. The building has a three-bay lobby entry and stands two storeys tall. The front is broad with two windows, and there is a central entrance that includes a panelled door set within an architrave and topped by a bracketed hood. The ground floor has four-light casement windows with leaded panes and segmental heads, while the first floor features three-light casements. The eaves are adorned with dentilled brickwork. A large axial stack is positioned just behind the ridge at the centre, with oversailing courses leading to a rebuilt cap. The right gable end displays exposed framing with brick nogging, braces to the tie beam, and struts to the collar. The left gable end is constructed with some stock brick. There is a 20th-century two-light attic casement. At the rear, there is a catslide roof over a continuous outshut with ground floor casements, and a two-storey 20th-century projection is located to the rear left. The interior has not been inspected.
