Description
This is a house located at 36 Mill Street, dating from the 17th century and remodeled in the 18th century. The original structure is timber-framed and covered in colourwashed random bond red brick, topped with an old tile roof and featuring a brick stack. The building has an L-plan and stands two storeys high with a four-window range.
On the ground floor, there is a 20th-century door next to a 20th-century window on the right, with a blocked door to the left and four blocked windows. The first floor has timber lintels over three 20th-century two-light casements and three blocked windows. The roof is gabled with a ridge stack, and there is a 20th-century three-window range on the right side wall. The left gable wall reveals a truss with curved principal rafters and struts. At the rear, there is an outshut.
Inside, the ground floor features chamfered and stopped beams. The first floor and attic have not been inspected but are likely to be of interest.
