Description
Mill Cottage is a mid-18th century house located on the north side of Mill Street, Wantage. The house is constructed of brick, likely in a Flemish bond pattern, and is painted white. It has a 20th-century tile roof and brick stacks. Originally designed with a two-unit plan, it was remodelled in the 20th century and now stands as a two-storey house with an attic, featuring a two-window front. A 20th-century gabled porch shelters a 20th-century door, above which is a timber lintel. The ground floor has 20th-century casement windows with segmental arches above them, while the upper floor retains 18th-century three-light leaded casements. Dentilled eaves run along the roofline. Two dormers, each with a three-light leaded casement, light the attic space. The roof is gabled, with gable end stacks. A left-hand extension incorporates an 18th-century four-light leaded casement. The interior of the property has not been inspected.
