Description
Devonshire House is a house dating from the early 19th century, with extensions added in the later 19th century. It is constructed of red brick with red dressings, and a stuccoed band above the ground floor. The roof is slate, hidden behind a moulded wooden cornice, with end stacks. The house is two-and-a-half storeys high, featuring a regular three-window front with glazing bar sashes. A wide, tripartite sash window is set in a square recess on the ground floor to the left. To the right is a later 19th-century canted bay with a hipped roof. A recessed arched entrance, accessed by six steps, has a decorated cast iron foot scraper. The entrance is topped by a flush-panelled door and a radiating fanlight. A single-storey wing extends to the right, incorporating a bay with a pediment.
