Description

The property at 38 and 40 Woodmarket, Lutterworth, is a house, now used as a cottage. It dates back to the 17th century, with later rebuilding and shortening occurring in the 19th century. The building is timber-framed and has a red brick facade, covered by a plain tiled roof. It is two storeys high, with boxed eaves and a central ridge stack. The right return front reveals wallpost and tiebeam construction. The front elevation is irregular, with casement windows in segment-headed surrounds, except for a sash window on the ground floor to the left. There is a half-glazed door within a porch on the left side. A round-arched entrance is located at the rear on the right, leading to a boarded door.
