Description

The Cottage is a 1769 cottage located in Barley Leas. It is constructed of red and buff brick in a chequer pattern, with a Swithland slate hipped roof and brick end stacks. The eaves are brick dentilled. The front facade faces to the right and features two storeys with two 2-light casement windows on each floor, which have been renewed. A central doorway has a cambered lintel and a plank door. The original cambered lintels remain above the ground floor windows. A glazed door is located in the facing end. There is a one-storey extension on the right end. A tablet dated 1769 is placed above the central doorway. The building is included on the list for its group value.
