Description
Lilac Cottage is a cottage dated 1712 and 1722, located in Hungarton. It is constructed of whitewashed brick with a black painted rendered plinth and features a Welsh slate roof with a brick central ridge and side stacks. The facade faces right and includes a cross wing at the left end by the roadway. The building has two storeys with three windows: a two-light horizontal sliding sash in the cross wing, a three-light casement, and another two-light horizontal sliding sash. On the ground floor, there is a three-light horizontal sliding sash, a lean-to at the angle with the front door, a one-light casement, and a similar two-light window. The left end features a six-pane window and a two-light casement above. The cross wing has cambered lintels, and in its gable, there is a stone tablet inscribed with "1722" and the initials "T over W." A similar tablet is located on the first floor of the main range, inscribed "TWS over 1712."
