Description

Brook Cottage is an earlier 19th-century cottage located on the west side of Church Lane in Hungarton. The cottage is built of colourwashed rendered brick with a plinth and a Swithland slate roof, featuring a brick left-end stack. The gable faces the street, with the facade on the right. It has two storeys and three sash windows on each floor, with the window sizes being 4/8, 3/6, and 4/8 respectively. The ground floor features an 8/8 sash window either side of a central doorcase with a 6-panelled door, the top panels glazed. The windows have painted stone sills and slightly cambered lintels, each lintel featuring a carved head as a keystone. A later extension to the right incorporates a ground floor 8/8 sash window, and it continues the original roof line.
