Description

The gateway to the rear of Shangton Hall Farmhouse dates from 1669 and is constructed of ashlar and rubble stone. It features a rounded archway with moulded imposts and a faceted keystone, topped with a flat surface and a moulded cornice. There are fragments of rubble stone walls on either side of the gateway. Originally, the top had a cresting, with remnants located nearby. One stone is inscribed with the year '1669'.
