Description
The former schoolroom, now used as an outbuilding, dates from the 18th century and is located immediately west-southwest of Cotesbach Hall. It is constructed of red brick in Flemish garden wall bond and features a plain tile roof with hipped and gabled ends, along with lead rolls at the hips and ridge and a cogged brick eaves cornice. The building has a small rectangular single cell plan with a lateral stack on the west side and a doorway at the north end.
The exterior is a single storey with a symmetrical three-window east front. It has 18th-century two-light wooden window frames with iron casements and square leaded panes, all set in cambered arch openings. At the north end, there is a left-hand doorway featuring a flush-panel door and a cambered brick arch. The south end has a large opening that has been inserted with a concrete lintel.
