Description

No. 6 Fowke Street is a 17th-century cottage featuring timber framing and whitewashed render. It has a high rendered plinth and a thatched roof with a central brick ridge and end stacks. The building stands two storeys tall, with three 3-light centre-opening casements on the upper floor and three 6/2 sash windows on the ground floor. To the centre right, there is a wooden doorcase with a bracketed hood and a six-panelled door, accessed by a short flight of stone steps. The cottage displays three bays of timber framing arranged in large rectangular or square panels, with diagonal braces. The timber framing continues on the right end, where there is a 2-light horizontal sliding sash window on the ground floor and a 2-light casement window above.
