Description

Rose Cottage is a house dating to circa 1700, located in Anthony Street, Rothley. The house is constructed of whitewashed render and granite rubble stone, with sections of timber framing, and has a Welsh slate roof featuring a whitewashed brick ridge and side stacks. The ridge stack has two circular flues, while the side stack is substantial. The right-hand gable incorporates a three-light, centre-opening leaded casement window above a single-light window to the left, and a three-light window to the right. A timber-framed gable with a truss is visible above the first floor. The timber framing consists of three large rectangular panels with braces. A door is located at the rear of the property. This building has group value from the contribution it makes to the character of the surrounding area.
