Description

Ivy House is a house dating to 1779, located on the east side of Anthony Street, Rothley. The house is constructed of red brick with a granite rubble stone plinth, topped with a slate roof, brick ridge, and projecting end stacks. Brick coped gables are present. The upper floor has three two-light casement windows, and the ground floor has similar windows with top lights above. A renewed doorcase with a small bracketted hood provides access to a six-panelled door with glazed upper panels, reached by a double flight of steps. An iron bracket supporting a 19th-century lamp is located to the right of the door. The date 1779 is inscribed in black brick on the right gable end, though the middle digits are concealed by a later brick stack.
