Description
No. 3 Church Street is a large house built in 1734, with later alterations. The brickwork is currently painted white. The house has three storeys and three bays, featuring a symmetrical facade. The central entrance consists of a six-panelled door set within a slight open pediment supported by brackets, and it includes a traceried fanlight. There are wide 16-light sash windows on either side of the door, with flat arched brick heads that are wider than the existing windows. A brick band runs along the first floor, and there is a projecting eaves cornice. Above the door, the date 1734 and the initials F.M. are displayed, along with a Sun Insurance sign. To the left of the main house, there is a two-storey, two-bay range that was built later. The house features gable stacks and has a wing at the rear.
