Description
No. 22 Middle Street North is a house built in the mid-18th century and remodelled in the early 19th century. It is constructed of brick that has been whitewashed, with stone dressings, and features a pantiled roof. The house has a central direct entry and stands two storeys tall with attics, consisting of three bays. The front door has six raised and fielded panels and an oblong fanlight, set within a doorcase that includes fluted pilasters and rosettes. To the left of the door is a sash window with glazing bars and a channelled wedge lintel, while to the right is a 16-pane sash window. On the first floor, there are sash windows with glazing bars and channelled wedge lintels, although one window above the door has been blocked. The house has end stacks and features tumbled-in brickwork at the gables.
