Description
Burnside is an early 19th-century house located on Middle Street North in Driffield. The building is constructed of brick with stone dressings and features a timber eaves cornice and a slate roof. It stands two storeys tall and has three bays, with single-storey wings on both the left and right sides, creating a symmetrical appearance.
The front of the house includes a Roman Doric porch supported by detached columns, with a plain frieze and a moulded cornice. The entrance door, dating from the late 19th century, is topped by a fanlight and flanked by two-pane sash windows that have sills and wedge lintels with projecting moulded keyblocks. The wings also feature sash windows with glazing bars, stone sills, wedge lintels with projecting moulded keyblocks, and a coped parapet. A band runs along the first floor, which has sash windows with glazing bars, stone sills, and similar wedge lintels with projecting moulded keyblocks. The house has end stacks and a hipped roof.
