Description

Manor Farmhouse and Cottage is a house and adjoining cottage located on Ratcliffe Road in Thrussington. The building dates from the 17th century and the early 19th century. It features timber framing with red brick nogging, a granite rubble stone plinth, and red brick. The roof is made of Welsh slate with a brick ridge and stacks at the right end.

The farmhouse is two storeys high and has two ranges, with the cottage on the left. The main house has two 3-light centre-opening casements above a 3-light casement, a central plank door, and a 3-light horizontal sliding sash. The timber framing consists of two bays with braces and six by two panels, most of which are intact. There are also two additional timbers between the upper horizontal and the eaves. To the right end, there is a one-storey extension.

The cottage to the left is also two storeys tall and features two 3-light casements, with the left one being centre-opening. On the ground floor, from left to right, there is a 1-light casement, a 3-light horizontal sliding sash with a cambered lintel, a part-glazed door, and another similar 3-light window. There is a lean-to structure on the left end.
