Description

No. 36 Ratcliffe Road is a cottage dating from the 18th century, with a raised half storey added in the 19th century. It is constructed of red brick with a granite rubble stone plinth and features a plain tile roof with brick stacks at the right ridge and left end. The cottage has two storeys and displays four casement windows: two 2-light, one 1-light, and one 2-light. On the ground floor, from the left, there are two 3-light sash windows, a part-glazed door, and another similar 3-light window, all with cambered lintels. The sashes are distinctive as only the lower half of the central light opens. All windows include glazing bars. There is a lean-to at the right end with garage doors. Inside, the cottage features beams and an inglenook fireplace.
