Description

A pair of houses built in the late 18th century, located on Beveridge Street in Barrow upon Soar. The brickwork is now rendered, but a plinth, string course, and eaves cornice can still be seen. The houses have two storeys and attic space, with gabled dormer windows. They feature sash windows with margin lights and keystones above. Number 49 has a two-unit plan, with a doorway placed off-centre. This doorway is a fluted, classical design with a traceried overlight, similar in style to number 47. Number 49a has a single-unit plan and a doorway at the gable end. The roofs are slate-covered, and there is a single-storey rubble wing projecting to the rear.
