Description
Nos 2 and 3 New Town are a pair of early 19th-century houses. They feature a slate roof and a bracketed eaves cornice. The houses are constructed of red brick with alternating grey headers and rise to three storeys. Number 2 has two window bays, while Number 3 has one window bay. Both houses have sash windows set in reveals with flat arches, and the glazing bars are intact, complemented by painted brick voussoirs. Number 2 has a door with two long narrow panels and a rectangular fanlight above, framed in stucco. Number 3 features a doorway in a single-storey lean-to annexe to the west, with a four-panelled door where the top two panels are cut away and glazed. It also has a semi-circular fanlight with tracery above, flanked by pilasters and topped with a moulded pediment-shaped hood.
