Description

No. 11 on Barkby Road is an early 19th-century house made of brick with a Welsh slate roof. It stands three stories tall and has three bays, featuring a central doorway framed by a moulded wood architrave. The doorway is supported by consoles on clustered shafts, and above the overlight, there are decorative triglyphs and dentils. The tower windows have been renewed, while the upper windows include 16-light sashes on the first floor and 12-light sashes in the attic storey, all replaced in their original openings with gauged brick heads. The central window spaces are blind, and the house has a very narrow plan with gable end stacks.
