Description

Vine House is a late 18th-century brick house located on Chapel Street in Syston. It features a Swithland slate roof and stands three storeys tall with a symmetrical facade that includes three bays and a central doorway. The six-panelled door is set within a moulded wood architrave, supported by clustered shafts and consoles with incised decoration. Above the door, there is a flat canopy with a triglyph pattern over the overlight and moulded decoration below it. The windows on the ground and first floors are 16-light sashes, while the attic storey has six lights. The central spaces of the attic are blind. All windows are adorned with high-quality gauged brick heads that have wide splays. The house also features gable end stacks.
