Description
The Fox and Hounds Public House is a building that dates from the late 16th century or early 17th century and may have originally been two separate dwellings. It features rough cast render over what is possibly a timber frame and has a Welsh slate roof. The building is two stories tall and is positioned at an angle on the corner of the street.
On the right side of the facade, there is a cart entry, with a doorway next to it and a 2-light casement window to the left. The longer section of the building has a doorway on its right side, a 4-light sash window next to it, and paired 4-light sashes to the left. The five upper windows are all 3-light horizontally sliding sashes. There is a stack on the left gable and another at the angle of the building.
Inside, there are remnants of an inglenook fireplace and a large chamfered spine beam with roll moulded stops. The building is reputed to be cruck framed.
